Elisabeth Almond, MSN, RN, FNP-C, grew up in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado, and has dedicated her nursing career to serving diverse communities locally and globally. She has worked as a nurse in Colorado Springs, on the rural Eastern Plains, in Denver, and throughout Haiti. A graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, Elisabeth earned her RN from the University of Colorado and her MSN from Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts.
Practicing since 2001, Elisabeth has provided care across a wide range of settings, including international health, women’s health, forensic nursing, and family practice. In recognition of her contributions to nursing and community health, she received the Nightingale Award — Colorado’s highest honor for nurses — in 2016. In 2024, she was also honored with the Dr. Leon Kelly NAMI Advocate of the Year Award. Elisabeth currently serves as a Medical Director in Family Practice at Peak Vista Community Health Centers. She strives to care for each patient with compassion, integrity, and kindness.
Outside of her professional work, Elisabeth is a mother of three and enjoys walking with friends, practicing yoga, baking her nieces’ favorite French bread, and traveling. Alongside her husband, she supports The Haiti Village Project, a micro-lending initiative serving rural communities in Haiti.
