Peak Vista Community Health Centers (Peak Vista) celebrates its eighteenth annual Breakfast of Champions®, a premier fundraising event, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. The event will be held at the Broadmoor from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m., and will feature five-time Olympic medalist Greg Louganis, as its keynote speaker.

Greg Louganis

Louganis participated in three Olympic Games: Montreal 1976, Los Angeles 1984, and Seoul 1988. At 16-years-old, he won his first silver medal. Most well-known for his consecutive gold medal wins on the 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform, Louganis is widely considered one of the greatest divers in history. He currently holds five Olympic medals, five World Championship titles, and nearly 50 national titles.

Louganis is an LBGTQIA+ activist, and he has had the courage to speak freely and openly about his life and HIV positive diagnosis. He is a trailblazer, author, coach, speaker, and humanitarian.

“We are honored to have Greg Louganis as our keynote speaker this year,” said President and CEO, Emily Ptaszek, PsyD, MBA, FACHE. “Greg’s story is one of passion and resilience, and his ideals directly parallel Peak Vista’s mission.”

The Breakfast of Champions®

The Breakfast of Champions® is Peak Vista’s premier fundraising event that supports its mission to provide exceptional health care to people facing access barriers through clinical programs and education. The event generates funds for primary medical, dental, behavioral health, and care coordination services for individuals in the Pikes Peak and East Central region, creates awareness of Peak Vista’s programs, and recognizes the many physicians, dentists, and other volunteer champions who support Peak Vista.

This year, a portion of funds raised will also go to support Peak Vista’s First Visitor program and Well Child Waiting Areas. First Visitor provides free resources, education, and home visit support to parents of children ages zero to five in the community, offering them the support and tools they need to care for their children. The Well Child Waiting Areas offer a space where parents can drop of their healthy children for free childcare while they attend their clinical appointments, removing a potential barrier to receiving the quality health care they need.

The presenting sponsor for the Breakfast of Champions® is the El Pomar Foundation.

The 2022 Breakfast of Champions® will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at the Broadmoor Hotel. Tickets are available at peakvista.org/BOC.
