Donate appreciated stocks or other long-term securities, and potentially avoid capital gains taxes. Gifts of stock and securities can also be an effective strategy when rebalancing your portfolio.
By donating appreciated securities and reinvesting the cash you might otherwise contribute, you may maximize both your charitable impact and your investment strategy. Peak Vista receives the full market value of the donated shares, and you may be eligible for an income tax deduction based on the value of your gift.

For donors age 70½ and older, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) remain one of the most tax-efficient ways to support Peak Vista.
A QCD allows you to make a direct gift from your IRA to a qualified charity. For donors who are subject to Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs), a QCD can count toward satisfying all or part of the RMD while excluding the distributed amount from taxable income.
