We're Changing Our Electronic Health Record

This means better access to your health information and an overall better experience for you and your family.

Peak Vista is moving to a new system called Epic. This is the same one used by many other healthcare organizations in our community.

What This Means for You

Better Service

This change will make it easier to access your health information, communicate with your care team, and coordinate your care.

Your Records, All in One Place

Because we will be on a version of the same platform as some local healthcare organizations, your medical records will be easier to find.

Easier Sharing (When You Want It)

Your health records with us can now be shared with other healthcare providers who also use this system. And your records with them can be shared with Peak Vista.

Please find answers to our most frequently asked questions below

Medical Records

Yes. All information in NextGen will be archived and accessible through our archive platform. Nothing will be destroyed.
  • Data from the past three years will be converted directly into Epic.
  • Providers will have access to additional information for all patients seen in the past three years.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid generally require we maintain health records for a period of seven (7) years. If we have your original medical record, or historical medical information, it will be available in our archive system. The transition to Epic does not change this. For records older than three years:
  • Epic will include a link to the archive system.
  • Clicking the link will allow providers to view your historical records from our archives.

Nothing will be lost. All lab results will be available either:
  • Directly in Epic, or
  • Through the archive system.

Account Basics – Patient Portal

March 31, 2026

Peak Vista’s legacy patient portal will no longer be available once we have transitioned to Epic. MyChart will be available to all Peak Vista patients and can also be linked to your other MyChart account via one app. Your current Peak Vista Intellichart patient portal will be retired as we transition to a more advanced system.

Your children and spouse may be added to your MyChart account as a “proxy,” allowing them to see the information as if they were logged in as you.

Access to Care / Appointments

You will be able to call the Customer Service Center as normal to schedule appointments. Additionally, starting March 31, you will be able to schedule virtual care appointments online and through MyChart. In the months that follow, Peak Vista will open up the ability to schedule other appointment types online and through MyChart.

Prescriptions & Refills

The switch to Epic will not affect your medication refills.

We will be converting your medication list during the process of moving to Epic; however, it we always recommend you bring your medication list with you just to confirm.

Billing & Insurance

Yes. We are moving to the Epic billing system. You may notice a difference in how your bill looks, but the charges will not change.

There may be a difference in how your bill looks but the charges will not change.

Communication

Yes. You can expect to receive reminder calls, texts and emails as you have in the past.

You do not need to notify your specialist, but it can be helpful. Partners such as UCHealth and CommonSpirit, who also use a version of Epic, will be able to share information with us more easily.

Privacy & Security

Yes. Your information is safe. Epic is a “best in class” electronic health record that offers features that will improve the patient and provider experience.

In-Clinic Experience

We encourage patients to always arrive fifteen minutes early for appointments. This allows us to gather any additional information we need for your visit.

You should expect the same exceptional care you have always received at Peak Vista. Although you may experience some different questions or a different process, you shouldn’t expect things to be much different.
