"I believe in meeting individuals where they are and starting our work together from a space of validation and empathy. My approach continues to facilitate healing and growth by providing support and education around the individual's mental health experience, the trauma response and nervous system, and other relevant areas of their experience. I believe in incorporating playfulness into the hard work that therapy can include and will use many experiential excersizes to ground folks to the moment and their internal experiences. Additionally, a significant amount of treatment is focused on gaining and applying coping skills necessary to manage painful thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations as well as to be able to communicate effectively with others around them. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, which is a technique that we can use to access, desensitize, and reprocess previous distressing and traumatic events that have gotten stuck and interfere in daily life."
Procedures that Rebeckah specializes in include trauma, EMDR, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
