In July of 2009, Peak Vista Community Health Centers was awarded a grant by the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments’ Area Agency on Aging to provide hearing screenings, comprehensive hearing tests, hearing aids, and minor hearing aid repairs for seniors age 60 and above living in El Paso, Teller, or Park counties. There is no cost to program participants, nor are there income requirements to be eligible for the program; however, recipients of services must be legal residents of Colorado and complete a program application. Please call (719) 344-7126 for more information.

Audiology Services Include

In addition to providing audiology services, Peak Vista Community Health Centers offers comprehensive primary care, dental care, and behavioral health services. We believe in the importance of regular wellness visits to help prevent and manage chronic disease.

What Are The Signs of Hearing Loss?

Common symptoms of hearing loss include:

Our ADA accommodations include:

  • Avoid loud noises whenever possible
  • Protect your hearing during loud events with earplugs or earmuffs
  • Give your ears 18 hours to recover after loud noise exposure
  • Get regular hearing evaluations

Should I Get A Hearing Evaluation?

Annual hearing evaluations are recommended for adults aged 60 and up, whether they are experiencing symptoms of hearing loss or not. However, if you are experiencing any of the signs of hearing loss listed above, book an appointment with Pikes Peak Audiology right away to have your hearing evaluated.

When Do I Need Hearing Aid Repair?

Hearing aids typically last up to five years, however, they will likely need to be repaired or adjusted at some point during that time.

Here’s how to know when your hearing may need repair:

  • Sounds are at a very low volume
  • Sounds are distorted or muffled
  • You hear whistling and/or feedback
  • You see physical damage (e.g. crack, bent wires)

Do You Offer Telehealth Appointments?

Yes! Peak Vista now offers telecare appointments for medical and behavioral health services. Our patients have the capability to meet with their provider virtually, from the comfort of their own home.
