FAQS

What is Peak Vista’s Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Fellowship?

Peak Vista’s APRN Fellowship is a year-long, full-time employed position for transitioning or recently graduated licensed APRNs who desire to increase their family practice competence and confidence in a progressive, collaborative learning environment. The Fellowship follows a format recognized by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and combines mentorship, problem-based learning and hands-on clinical experience. It provides these already highly-skilled, licensed APRNs with greater confidence, which will directly influence the patient’s experience.

When does the APRN Fellowship begin?

Generally, the Fellowship begins the day after Labor Day. The Fellows spend a year in an immersion environment, graduating in August the next year.

How many Fellows will be in the program?

The Fellowship accepts 5 Fellows each year. However, following the 2017-2018 cohort, the Fellowship decided to add one dedicated slot for Peak Vista RN's who would like to apply to the Fellowship program, which we refer to as an "endowed Fellow". In addition, we also appoint one graduating Fellow as a Senior Fellow.

Who can apply for the Fellowship?

The program is designed for transitioning or recently graduated licensed APRNs who desire to increase their family practice competence and confidence in a progressive, collaborative learning environment.

Will APRN Fellows see patients while in this program?

Yes, as licensed medical professionals, the APRN Fellows will see Peak Vista patients seeking primary medical care.

Where will the APRN Fellowship be located?

The APRN Fellowship will be based in the Health Center at Printers Parkway located at 350 Printers Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.

What are the benefits of being a patient of the APRN Fellowship program?
