PVCHC believes that quality does not only apply to clinical care but also must be embraced organization-wide. To that extent, the Quality Improvement process is a multisystem process which continually addresses and reports formally and informally at the department, director, executive, and board levels. It provides for an ongoing, systematic, and objective evaluation of performance to ensure continuous quality and performance improvement. PVCHC uses the widely accepted definition of quality given by the Institute of Medicine as its perspective and approach to total quality. We define and believe that quality health care should be safe, effective, patient centered, timely, efficient, and equitable.

PVCHC is delighted to announce that it has been awarded its second consecutive three
year term of accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care,
Inc. The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, also known as AAAHC or
the Accreditation Association, is a private, non-profit organization formed in 1979. It is the preeminent leader in developing standards to advance and promote patient safety, quality
and value for ambulatory health care through peer-based accreditation processes, education and research. Accreditation is ultimately awarded to organizations that are found to be in compliance with the Accreditation Association standards. The Accreditation Association currently accredits over 3,700 organizations in a wide variety of ambulatory health care settings, including ambulatory and office based surgery centers, managed care organizations, as well as Indian and student health centers, among others. With a single focus on the ambulatory care community, the Accreditation Association offers organizations a cost-effective, flexible and collaborative approach to accreditation.
